We are pleased to announce that the new version of FaceFlow is extremely close to release. Sometimes it’s hard to tell from a user’s perspective, but our dedicated staff is always paying attention to how the website is flowing (no pun intended) and looking for ways to improve the integrity of your experience. Although it’s taking longer than expected to release the new version, it’s critical that we do not sacrifice quality for speed. No bug goes unseen and no opportunity goes ignored!

So what exactly is being changed this time around? While we have to keep things general for now, we can guarantee big improvements are on their way. Our main focus at the moment is on system upgrades – we noticed that some people are dealing with problems involving the video chat connection, and this bug is on the verge of being completely eliminated. There are also numerous issues being dumped on people who have firewalls. Users shouldn’t be penalized for having security on their computers, so we want to narrow down those obstacles as much as possible.

Bug fixes are all fine and dandy, but we want to include something new that the users can enjoy first-hand. Some awesome design improvements will be incorporated into the new version as well, so you can look forward to tangible changes along with the system upgrades.

To put the cherry on top, this version is going to open up a window for the addition of new features in the future. We want to turn FaceFlow into something bigger than it already is, and this release is going to be the initiation of that process. Our platform already stands out from the rest of the video chat websites out there, but that certainly isn’t where it ends for us. The redefining of the concept of video chat itself is on the horizon and you’re already on board to enjoy the experience.

I use webcam chat quite a bit. It’s a great way to keep in touch with friends and an even better way to meet new people. My only complaint is that there is a certain touch of randomness to the random chat concept that shouldn’t be random at all, and that’s the quality.

What do I mean? Well, go type “random chat” or “webcam chat” into Google (if you haven’t already). Take a look at that list – gobs and gobs of pages of different video chat services all offering the exact same thing in a randomly bad way.
Honestly, it’s like playing the lottery. Close your eyes and click a link – the smart money says you’ll lose the game. In this case, the goal of the game is to find a webcam chat site that doesn’t stink. Odds are you’ll run into one of or a combination of the following problems:

1). Free doesn’t mean free. It happens all the time – you’ll see an offer for “free video chat” and you can’t help but be interested. Things look promising at first, but soon you’re told that your free time is up and then you’re smacked in the face with a credit card information form. It’s deceiving and a complete waste of your time.

2). Please download and install our free program! Here you go… all you want to do is enjoy some random chat, why not waste some of your computer space while you’re at it? Better yet, go ahead and put yourself at risk for acquiring a virus! That’s exactly how you should enjoy your time online! Oh, wait, not it’s not.

3). Inappropriate behavior tends to plague a lot of the webcam chat sites, especially the ones that promote the random chat feature. Unfortunately, the only reason this type of abuse is consistent is because it goes unchecked. Far too many websites out there don’t bother hiring teams of moderators to keep things safe for their members. If the admins can’t prioritize your safety and privacy, why should you bother signing up for their services? You shouldn’t.

So I digress: Not everything about random chat should be random. Meaning you shouldn’t have to play guessing games with the services you sign up with – constantly wondering what sort of disappointment you’ll be facing the next time around. Video communication services need to either emulate real professionalism and quality or get out of the business.

The good news, however, is that there are some webcam chat sites out there that actually know a thing or two about what their users need and want. They’re out there, but you’ll have to think about what matters to you the most so you can arrive at a reasonable option. At FaceFlow, our goal is to give you the best possible quality. Just don’t settle for less!

How often do you video chat? Maybe you like to use it to talk to friends and family, or perhaps you find it useful for conducting business meetings. There are a lot of different reasons for why people use video calls to communicate, but there are also a lot of people who don’t realize the importance of finding a good service to do it with.

The best way to look for a website to sign up with is to narrow it down to three important concepts. I like to call them the “three P’s of video calling” – price, platform and privacy.

The Price of Video Calling

This is the easiest one of all, mainly because it’s simple. When you video chat live, what should it cost you?

Nothing.

Yes, nothing. I told you it was simple! The important thing to understand is that there are a lot of decent video calling websites out there that won’t charge you a single penny to communicate online, so even considering spending money on a different service is out of the question. The other websites that can’t keep up with the ones that offer it for free need to just give up – the concept of spending money on video calling is prehistoric at best.

The Video Call Platform

I’ve talked to a lot of people who use free video chat and I’ve found that a very strong majority of them prefer using their web browsers instead of programs. I’m in the same boat – what’s the point of eating up my computer space and risking the chance of downloading a virus when I could just as easily do everything via my browser?

Besides, when it comes to inviting friends, family or coworkers to join you in a video conference, it’s enough hassle getting them to sign up, let alone forcing them to download and install a program. The best way to go is the simple way – clicking a link to start video calling is all that should be needed after the sign up process has been completed.

The Privacy of Video Calling

As far as video conferencing goes, it’s easy to maintain your privacy. But what about when you video chat live in a random chat room? There are a lot of abusive individuals all over the internet that seem to put in a special effort to spoil the fun of others, and if a website doesn’t know how to handle such behavior then they don’t deserve my membership.

The best way to go about maintaining your safety here is to make sure that a service offers a report option for inappropriate behavior. A team of moderators should be alert 24/7 making sure that people aren’t being abused while they video chat.

Video calling over the internet is all about speed and efficiency – any obstacles that get in the way are usually good signs telling us to find a new alternative. What matters most to you when you video chat live?

The hallmark of the internet is communication. Communication that happens so fast, that not even real-world proximity can keep up with it. In fact, you could probably reach your next door neighbor faster if you just emailed him rather than walking over and knocking on his door. That’s pretty powerful. Powerful enough to the point where it’s almost bewildering to find that many people are still underestimating the usefulness of video expression.

Before we continue, let it be known that there is no better form of communication than real-life interaction. In a world where the most superior form of currency has become information, we look for ways to capitalize on any opportunity that makes communication convenient. But we often forget that impersonal communication is only useful to a certain extent – the more personal you can make something, the more powerful it becomes. Whether it’s a business meeting, a professional presentation or a simple conversation with a relative, never will a written email or a cell phone text message become more expressive than a face to face interaction. This is where video conferencing comes into play.

A lack of proximity is a barrier. The farther we find ourselves away from someone, the harder it becomes to integrate the necessary amount of energy and momentum into the things we need to say. But why limit yourself when there’s a free channel of communication out there that allows you to see the faces of people from across the ocean? Why bother stressing over the possibility of missing a work meeting when the presence of your coworkers is only as far away as your mouse button?

With video conferencing, you’ll find that you can accomplish almost any form of personal communication in the most convenient manner possible. The only trick is finding the service that can offer it to you in the right way.

We have two philosophies here at FaceFlow: (1) people shouldn’t have to pay money for video conferencing, and (2) they shouldn’t have to waste computer space or risk acquiring a virus by installing a program. Free and browser-based – those are the key concepts.

Communication is not a sacred tool that can instantly empower someone, but rather a gift that must be used correctly in order to yield the benefits. Therefore, putting a price tag on communication is selfish. Don’t sell yourself short by giving into profit hounds.

If you find yourself reliant on communication due to business or personal circumstances, then video conferencing should be indispensable to you. At FaceFlow, we want to build a service that knows exactly what you need and why you need it, and our mission will never end until we accomplish exactly that.

For the past several weeks, we’ve been working hard on improving FaceFlow to offer you something useful that will truly allow you to stay closer with your friends & family even while apart. We put a lot of thinking into what we need to improve and modify in order to do just that.

We are now just a few weeks short of releasing the new version of FaceFlow, and here are a few sneak peaks of what will be improved :

Audio & video quality enhancement: There will be no more echo even while using your speakers, and the video chat quality as well as the audio will be sharper.

Improved design: Looking at something that looks great is just better.

“Logics” and usability improvements: We are changing a lot of the logics, which make the application more intuitive and user-friendly.

Better infrastructure: We’re upgrading our servers in order to offer a top-notch webcam chat quality.

Multiple bug fixes.

The new version is expected to launch in early November. During this time, keep enjoying FaceFlow and we’ll never stop working hard for you!

You’ve probably often shared a YouTube video while video chatting with your friends. However, you know it can be a little annoying as you have to watch the video on another web page, which makes the video chat useless because you don’t see each other anymore while watching the video.

At FaceFlow, we thought about this and wanted to make video sharing simple and fun. Sharing a video while in a chat (or in a webcam chat) with your friends is easy : you simply have to click on the YouTube button, enter the YouTube link of the video, and then the video will appear for both you and your partner – you just have to press the play button to watch it!

Check the image below for an example :

Video sharing on FaceFlow

The next time you video chat on FaceFlow, remember to try this feature, you’ll like it!

Starting a video chat session on FaceFlow has just become easier than ever before. In fact, the only thing you have to do is share your Video Call Link with a friend. When you log-in to your FaceFlow account, you will see your Video Call Link on the left of the application.

We have also added two share buttons – the ‘Tweet’ and ‘Facebook share’ buttons. These additions will allow you to quickly share your video call link, making it easier to start up a session.

Your friends don’t even need accounts on FaceFlow, all they have to do is simply open your link and the free video chat starts once you accept the call. It’s as simple as that!

Here is a little image of the video call link and the share buttons:

We think you’ll find these features to be quite useful. Our philosophy is that simplicity and availability go hand in hand, and we are always keeping this in mind when developing FaceFlow as a way to keep in touch with the people you care about.

We’re very pleased to announce that FaceFlow will be reaching 100,000 members in a few days. Our mission is to offer our members what they want, with the highest quality possible – and our dedication to that mission only grows stronger with each new idea. FaceFlow is one of the only video chat and video conferencing services that offers the luxury of being able to enjoy your sessions with the use of your web browser – without anything to install – at absolutely no cost.

With that being said, it’s almost hard to believe that we’re just getting started. Our goal is to establish FaceFlow as the most efficient video chat platform out there, and with new ideas and concepts being generated every day, we’ll be working with a lot of possibilities in the future.

Accessibility is the name of the game – here are some of the cool projects we’re working on releasing very soon:

Create a FaceFlow application for mobiles, which will include iOS and Android devices;

Create a desktop application

Further improvements to the quality of the website

With FaceFlow being available on multiple platforms, it will become easier than ever before to see and speak to your family, friends and colleagues. In fact, even if you are using FaceFlow on the Web, you will still be able to video chat with your friends who are using FaceFlow on their iPhone or Android devices.

Providing our community with a unique video chat and video conferencing experience is something that we take very seriously. Right now, our goal is to extend our reach beyond the web – you can look forward to seeing some awesome additions coming your way soon.

We’ve been working hard and I haven’t had much time to post a blog entry, but we wanted to take the time to talk about something that we can’t let go unaddressed.

I was having a conversation with a friend of mine last week who was apparently a frequent Skype™ user and I couldn’t help but be caught off guard when he brought up the fact that he is actually paying for it. Basically, to make a long story short, he was forking out over $10 a month just to make group video calls with his kids and wife. I was blown away because I couldn’t believe someone would actually pay money for such a service. I still find it hard to believe that FaceFlow is one of the very few services that offers video conferencing for free, directly on the web.

Let me just add that we didn’t make our conference calling a free feature in order to size up the competition; we truly and solely believe that it’s proper, and quite frankly, normal. Questions pop up in my head, like what else can we do for people to make life easier for them? What additional things are the other communication companies jipping their users out on? The staff here at FaceFlow is most certainly going to be giving this some more thought, but right now seems like the perfect time to spotlight our free video conferencing service.

Family calls, work meetings, even video calls with new people – we’ve got you covered on every basis. And just like every one of FaceFlow’s other features, our video conference service requires no download! This factor alone makes it extremely convenient for you to hold a long distance meeting with anyone. You won’t have to worry about whether or not a certain friend or co-worker has a program installed on their computer – all you simply have to do is go to our website, login with your account and you can instantly begin your meeting. It’s that simple.

Let’s not forget that it’s completely free as well. No monthly charge, no by-the-minute fees, nothing! When it comes to your long distance social life, we’ve got your back! Right now, our group video chat feature allows up to 4 people at once, and we’re currently working on allowing even more in the future. And guess what? It will still be free even then. As we continue to explore every length and corner of our company’s potential, we will stay true to our mission: the best quality, the easiest availability and, as always – entirely free. We value our users above all else and look forward to letting you know more about our upcoming ideas soon!
